The Mission of Waynesboro Area Industrial Heritage Trust
The mission of the Industrial Heritage Trust is to provide the residents of the Waynesboro area, including Antrim, Quincy, and Washington Townships, and all visitors to this community, an awareness and insight into the area’s rich industrial heritage. This mission is to be accomplished through the thoughtful and selective collection of significant artifacts, photographs, drawings, and documents pertaining to the area’s industrial history. Research, exhibitions, and educational programming will be an integral part of the mission. The education of the public and the encouragement of the careers in industry are central to this mission.
The Museum
The museum, open for special events and by appointment, is in a former church located at 235 Philadelphia Avenue, Waynesboro, PA
Designed by Frank F. Landis, the church was built on land acquired for him. Frank and his brother, Abe, were two industrial pioneers whose contributions had tremendous influence on the development, evolution, and products of the Geiser, Frick, Landis Machine, and Landis Tool Companies, as well as the growth and economic well-being of Waynesboro and surrounding areas.
The Waynesboro Area Industrical Heritage Trust is actively seeking members, volunteers, and artifacts.
